Couples Shower- Buckman Style
Casey & I had our first wedding shower this past weekend and I can't begin to tell you how thankful and humbled we felt regarding everyone's love, support, and generosity toward us. Our couples shower most certainly showered us with more love and care than we could have thought possible...
B Corp, what?
Did you know that there's only a little over 2,000 certified B Corporations worldwide and that Beautycounter is one of them?! Shut the front door...
BQ x 2 (and Valentine's, too)!
In grad school I got in a pretty good habit of running and before I knew it I began to fall in love with the sport. I've never been the fastest runner, but there's something special about going for a run around my neighborhood, especially with my pup in tow. It became a form of therapy for me and a way to get away from a busy and stressful course load as well as just unplug from the world for a little while...
Plume Date
As I mentioned before, last spring Casey & I took a Smart Stepfamily class through our church, Woodcrest. We focused on material from the book The Smart Stepfamily: 7 Steps to a Healthy Family by Ron L. Deal. I'm so thankful we took this class, but to be completely transparent, it was not the class we intended to take...
Southern Supper Club
Whether we were hosting other friends or just gathered around the table as a family, I'd learned at a very young age that fellowship and happy memories were made sitting around the table. You can imagine my excitement then when I digested (ha, see what I did there) this new Freezer Club concept. And because of my upbringing I decided I'd reference my little club as The Southern Supper Club.
Enemy of the Heart
You know, I've never liked the word disappointment. Even when I was a little girl I didn't care for it. I remember my sister and I joking that it was always better to make our parents "mad" than to hear they were "disappointed" in us. No ma'am. Not okay. To this day the word makes me feel uneasy. Yet there it was, sitting on my doorstep, staring me in the face, and tasting every bit like vinegar in my mouth. Disappointment.
10 minute daily workout challenge
It's that time of year for New Year's resolutions, fitness challenges, and diet crazes. For me, I choose not to look at it as a fad trend, but as a lifestyle change. I want to live life well in this temple God has given me for as long as I'm able. That's only possible though if I'm taking care of myself along the way.
New Year Reset
Casey and I completed Whole 30 for the first time in September of last year. While it was challenging and a bit daunting at times, we did our best to stick with it and follow the rules to a "T." We discovered a lot about ourselves and developed several healthier habits (such as eating more vegetables) that we continued into the months that followed...
The Great Gatsby- Murder Mystery Dinner
I love the game Clue. My mom taught me to play when I was around 6 years old and it's been my favorite game ever since. All this is to say, Casey came home two nights ago and asked "do you want to go to a murder mystery dinner?"
Switch to Safer- My 'Why'
A childhood friend of mine runs a successful life and style blog called Holy City Chic and I had been following her blog's instagram posts for some time. One day I saw a picture she posted of a face wash and moisturizer in beautiful packaging (y'all, there really is something to pretty packaging) and decided to click the link in her profile to read more about it. It was here that I discovered the name Beautycounter and began to learn more about both the company and the products they sold.
Hot Yoga Insights
Y'all, I grew up in the south with mild winters and sweltering summers, but even I think calling it hot yoga is putting it mildly. Have you ever tried it? Within minutes my skin is glistening and my breathing a little heavier. But you know what?...
The Proposal
Another guest post by the love of my life. From this story came the now infamous cheesy pickup line, "not as nice as this rock"...
The Story of Us
A special guest post by my amazing fiancé describing the moment we first met. His special write-up quickly became a family favorite. Our boys love retelling this story to family and friends when they ask "how did you meet."
